[BENEFIT PANCAKE BREAKFEST FOR GREEN SCARE PRISONERS]

From an e-mail by the event organizers: “Over the past six months, more than a dozen people have been arrested around the country for alleged involvement in acts of environmentally-motivated sabotage. Many of these people have been involved for many years in public activism, and are being targeted because of their effective community organizing for environmental and social justice. The primary force behind these arrests has been the FBI, which has built much of its case around the testimony of paid informants and agent provocateurs. Most of those arrested now face more than 30 years in prison – they need our support! Threatened by the whole of the Homeland Security machine, they need many thousands of dollars to be able to afford bail and the skilled attorneys they will require if they are to have a chance at proving their innocence. So, please join us this Saturday for a benefit pancake breakfast. We will be raising money to assist with their legal defense and creating awareness about political repression in the U.S. today. Everything on the menu will be vegan-friendly, and we will serving a wide variety of pancake and toppings. [EARTH DAY FESTIVAL]
noonish-??? at dunn meadow (6th st and indiana st. on the iu campus). lots of local community groups as well as some bands playing. i’ll be there tabling for boxcar books from 12:30-3p.
